Privacy Policy This privacy policy details how The Hypnobirth School (‘we’ and ‘us’) collect, use, store and retain your information (whether you are a person or a business) when you have any interaction with The Hypnobirth School via our website, e mails, booking forms and mailing lists. The Hypnobirth School is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We process personal client data to facilitate the booking and running of our classes. We do not share any data we hold with third parties. Data Storage and Protection Your data is stored on our own hardware. All our internal systems are password protected and user access is restricted. Our website We collect only the data you submit on our website: booking forms and email addresses if you subscribe to the mailing list. This information is then stored on our hard drive and also password protected on our Shopify Site. The website statistics gathered by our web hosting company records server requests only, for example - the IP address and date of visit. This is similar to every other server on the web. Our booking forms storage Our client data is stored on a hard drive. Data we collect from you for the purposes of booking our classes:  

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Telephone numbers
  • Email address
  • Your child/children's Due Date
  • Medical history for your yourself (if applicable)

Our mailing lists compiled from our client lists. Our mailing lists are stored in our hard drive and password protected within ChimpMail. Data stored in these applications contains the following information only:  

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email Address

We keep the number of communications we send to a minimum, and will only send you information related to the following:  

  • Booking confirmations and reminders
  • Relevant Class Information or updates
  • The Hypnobirth School Newsletters
  • Offers and promotions

Our lawful basis for processing your dataFor existing customers who are attending classes, we store, retain and use your data in order to provide the services agreed in your contract with us. For new customers, when you first communicate with us our first e mail response requires a reply with an opt in confirmation before we can send you further communications.  For past customers, we may from time to time, send you communications about our products and services which we believe you have a legitimate interest in receiving. You can opt-out of these communications at any time. Protecting your data Any internal data we hold is stored on our own hardware. All our internal systems are password protected and user access is restricted. Data retention We do not hold your data any longer than is necessary to provide you with our services or to comply with applicable law. Whilst we do not place a specific timeframe on the retention of our personal data, we periodically review our records and remove, edit, archive or delete data we deem surplus to requirements. The Hypnobirth School is also required, by law, to retain financial information relating to our business practices for up to 7 years. Your rights In accordance with the GDPR you have the following rights:  

  • The right to be informed
  • The right of access
  • The right to rectification
  • The right to erasure
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to data portability
  • Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling (at present The Hypnobirth School have no automated systems)

We will not use any personal information obtained via this website, our booking forms, registers or mailing lists for any purpose other than that stated when the information is gathered. We adhere to the terms of the GDPR and the security and value of any information you supply us is taken very seriously. We will not share your information with any third party unless required to do so by legal requirement. As of the GDPR May 2018 

Terms and conditions of booking Availability of courses - Courses must be booked in advance. Orders - A booking does not constitute the creation of a contract and The Hypnobirth School reserves the right to decline to process a booking for any reason whatsoever. If the booking is not able to be fulfilled The Hypnobirth School will promptly refund all monies. VAT - VAT is not applicable. Participant Cancellation - The fee will be repaid promptly and in full if your baby arrives before the course or in the very unlikely event of the course being cancelled. These are the only circumstances under which a refund will be made. Course Cancellation - The Hypnobirth School reserves the right to amend or cancel any course, course times, dates or published prices. Changes to course prices, times and dates will be advised before the course start date and any course already paid in full will not be subject to the increased price. Intellectual property - Any recording or written material included as part of this course and all rights worldwide (including Intellectual Property Rights) relating thereto respectively are the sole property of Katharine Graves, The Hypnobirthing Centre Ltd, or others from whom such rights may be derived (whether or not protected by trademark and copyright laws) and may not be used other than for the personal use of the participant without obtaining prior written permission. The participant agrees not to record the course or any part thereof. The participant also agrees that, from time to time The Hypnobirth School may photograph or record the course for sales, marketing, promotional or quality control purposes. By attending the event, the participant consents to being photographed or recorded for the duration of the event and agree that The Hypnobirth School shall retain all Intellectual Property Rights arising from any resulting media. Data Protection -  The participant also agrees that Cheryl Samuels and The Hypnobirth School shall hold your details on file and on computer and, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, you are able to view your individual file by giving not less than seven days' written notice. Disclaimer -  Using Hypnobirthing techniques is not a substitute for the advice of or the presence during birth or any part of pregnancy or labour of a qualified medical practitioner, midwife or obstetrician. It does not represent in fact or otherwise an alternative to appropriate medical care or for professional medical advice in any way shape or form. Any questions or doubts that you have about the use of Hypnobirthing by you or any third party in any part should be discussed by you with your medical caregiver and the safety of or the appropriateness of this programme to you or any third party whom you represent be confirmed with your medical care giver prior to undertaking the programme. Katharine Graves, the Hypnobirthing Centre Ltd, its instructors or its representatives accept no responsibility for the inappropriate use of Hypnobirthing techniques or complications or harm to any third party resulting from the use of Hypnobirthing techniques as a substitute for medical advice. Hypnobirthing is intended solely as an 'aid' to 'help' increase the comfort of labour and birth and is not in any way a guarantee or promise of expected, imagined or actual outcome of the labour or birth in any way shape or form. Participation in Hypnobirthing classes in any part or in total by any person or third party is undertaken with the understanding by any persons or third party that no litigation or legal action whatsoever will be initiated or that no form of compensation or reimbursement or refund will be claimed or applied for at any time now or in the future against Katharine Graves, The Hypnobirthing Centre Ltd, its instructors, or its representatives under any circumstances whatsoever. Agreement - Any booking of a Hypnobirthing class assumes full and informed compliance to and agreement with all of these terms and conditions of sale. In the event of a dispute, English law pertains.
